**Role Summary:**
As the Parallel Switchgear (PSG) Customer Applications Engineer, you will:
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Complete take-off from project one-line drawings, outline and specification
+ Develop initial major bills of material for proposal of switchgear and associated equipment
+ Line by line specification review, compliance, and exceptions of project specification
+ Develop submittal based on project specification, drawings and outline (Projects value at approximately $10K - $ 1.5 MM)
+ Develop sequence of operations of switchgear function
+ Develop detailed outline, schematics and wiring drawings
+ Develop controls design with PLCs, operator interface, HMI and Electrical protective relay, engine controllers, Synchronizers devices
+ Develop test procedures and assist in testing of switchgear equipment
+ Develop customer interconnection and interconnections between controls, switchgear and engine controllers
+ Develop operation and maintenance manuals
+ Interact with Project Managers and ensure timely implementation of project design
+ Interact with customer and respond to technical questions and clarifications
+ Support manufacturing and purchasing teams
+ Support new product and standardization
+ Support post shipment activities – field service start up, warranty, retrofitting existing switchgear and associated equipment
+ Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities
**Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in Paralleling Switchgear controls design and manufacturing, LV / MV Switchgear controls and protection scheme, electrical interlocking scheme
**Desired Characteristics:**
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
+ Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
+ Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
+ Established project management skills.
+ Detailed switchgear outline and schematics generation from project Single line
+ BOM (Bill of Materials) creation and experience working with MES
+ Experience in Electrical project specification review and clarifications
+ Proficient in ePlan or ACAD, ePlan
+ PLC / HMI / SCADA exposure
+ Strong Electro-mechanical background
+ Self-starter, highly motivated, result oriented, customer focused
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
+ Engine Generator - Governing and voltage regulation
+ UL891, UL1558, ANSI, NFPA, IEEE codes
+ PLC controls application in switchgear controls and SCADA applications
