The selectee for this position will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR in the Motor Transportation Shop of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

### Responsibilities

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

* Operate motor vehicles including pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, carryalls, sedans, crew cab pickup trucks, jeeps, and station wagons.

* Perform operator maintenance and clean vehicles in compliance with established policies.

* Complete trip tickets, preventive maintenance records, and accident reports.

* Load and unload the vehicles by hand. Operator ensure the cargo is protected from the weather and secure to prevent damage or loss while in transit.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Operating one or more motor vehicles including pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, carryalls, sedans, crew cab pickup trucks, jeeps and station wagons to perform deliveries and transport personnel and supplies with a high degree of safety and reliability.

For those applicants located outside of the commuting area, a service agreement may be negotiated in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulation and applicable Department of the Navy policies.

Tour of duty will be 36 months.

Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v1230.

Pay retention will be authorized to the selectee outside of Hawaii who accepts a downgrade when there is no step in the lower grade that equals or exceeds his/her current rate of basic pay.

DoD employees (not currently in Hawaii) who are selected for a position in Hawaii need to sign a Rotation Agreement with Return Rights (Onboarding form: OCHR-EOD-09).

Selectees who are not current DoD employees and who need to PCS to Hawaii will sign a Rotation Agreement without Return Rights (Onboarding form: OCHR-EOD-10) and can be registered in PPP (if otherwise eligible).
