Support Services Specialist, ZA-0342-2 (MAP) - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Hawaii)

Summary This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marines Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Law Enforcement (OLE) with one vacancy in Honolulu, HI. Responsibilities As a Support Services Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Plan and coordinate a variety of support service functions including, but not limited to travel, procurement of administrative supplies and equipment, and reconciling purchases and acquisitions. Manage the purchase card process by supporting purchase card users and reconciliation of accounts in order to provide accurate and timely budget information to management. Responsible for the maintenance, custody and management of personal property. Oversee the Time and Attendance program for the office and establish new users, reset accounts, ensure that all entries are free from error, and conduct audits/correct problems with user balances. This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.The ZA-2 is equivalent to the GS-07/09; however is only being advertised equivalent to the GS-09 grade level. The full performance level of this position is ZA-2. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.To qualify at the ZA-2 or GS-09 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-2 or GS-07in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Providing support in areas of personal property maintenance and management; Assisting with analyzing and tracking of purchase cards and travel cards; and Supporting the management of a time and attendance program. -OR-SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with major study in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. -OR-COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:A combination of education and experience as described above. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of one year is qualifying for combination.
