Telecommunications Assistant - WEST (Call In, Rotator) - Queen's Health Systems (Hawaii)

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides rapid, accurate and courteous handling of telephone calls, dispatch services, paging, FAX message emergency communications.

Inputs data into the electronic Security Report Writing system.

Performs CCTV programming, patient calls to the nurses, alarm lines and Fire Management System operations.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Essential: Sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; lifting usual weight of 1/2 pound up to 2 pounds; pushing/pulling, carrying usual weight of 1/2 pound up to 3 pounds; reaching at and above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions

Frequent: Gripping of an object, twisting body and reaching below shoulder level

Occasional: Walking, climbing stairs

Operates operator console, various communication equipment, computer, telephone

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

Subjected to cold temperatures due to computer equipment.

Occasionally exposed to irate telephone callers and subjected to possible verbal abuse.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

High School diploma or equivalent in education.

B. EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year of telecommunications experience.

Experience to demonstrate ability to read, write, understand and speak English clearly.
