Lumeria Maui is an educational retreat center located in beautiful Upcountry Maui. Our historic compound, originally built in 1910, has been extensively renovated and carefully redesigned to meet the growing needs of individuals and groups seeking alternative and experiential learning. Guest rooms and suites are offered for community students and island visitors seeking overnight accommodations while on retreat. Lumeria’s onsite restaurant, The Wooden Crate, serves farm-to-table nourishing and delicious meals to students, retreats, community patrons and visitors, and The Wellness Spa at Lumeria offers bodywork, massage and healing arts therapies and private lessons.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior public spaces throughout the property, including the lobby, exterior walkways, meeting space and fitness center
Assist with the removal of dirty linens and trash throughout property
Assist housekeeping as assigned
Deliver supplies to housekeeping closets as needed
Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
Transport cart with cleaning supplies, amenities and linens to assigned guest room and position securely.
To properly and thoroughly clean guest rooms as specified including, but not limited to:
Empty trash containers and recycling bins.
To handle guest complaints with professionalism, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Report any damages or maintenance problems to your supervisor.
Effectively communicate with other departments throughout the shift
Adhere to Lost and Found and Key Control policies.
Completion of other cleaning tasks as assigned, including cleaning of common areas, public restrooms, etc.
To perform other essential room cleaning duties as operations change in the future.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.
Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Essential Physical Abilities
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads. Requires lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to push or pull a vacuum and wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
