Job Description:
As a Survey Research Data Processing Programmer / QC Analyst, you will transform raw survey data into polished datasets for our clients. You’ll communicate with project managers to understand the requirements for each survey project, and you’ll work with survey programmers to make sure that each survey instrument works correctly. Once we have survey data from the field, you’ll use statistical software to clean, merge, subset, transform, organize, and format the data so that they are ready for analysis. Along the way, you’ll handle ad hoc reporting requests and client changes to the project specs.
The work is performed in a fast-paced environment and data processing programmers operate as part of a team that includes both technical and non-technical members. Successful performance in this position requires the ability to use computer technology for creative problem-solving, excellent analytical/logical skills, extreme attention to detail and quality of product, ability to work independently – carefully and rapidly to meet tight deadlines. Experience in survey research (CATI, mail, web modes), SAS programming language, and Linux operating system are all highly desirable as well as SQL experience. Literacy with common Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with research staff to understand and document survey project requirements.
+ Process and validate survey datasets as part of client deliverables.
+ Troubleshoot diverse problems and communicate solutions to research staff.
Basic Qualifications:
+ BA/BS in Computer Science, or related field.
+ Has 3 or more years with relevant experience.
+ Has experience using SAS for data management.
+ Proficient in writing technical documentation.
+ Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
Preferred Skills/Experience:
+ Has experience in survey research (CATI, mail, web modes).
+ Has experience with Linux operating system.
+ Has experience with Python.
+ Has experience with SQL.
