SOS International, LLC is currently looking for an experienced Secret cleared senior systems engineer with full stack skills to work on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii. The Mission Partner Environment Engineering Services (MPE-ES) team based out of Honolulu, Hawaii creates network infrastructure designs for USINDOPACOM services. Our designs are secure, reliable and resilient and support USINDOPACOM’s mission and its 5000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems with architecturally-unique solutions that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical C2 strategies. The team develops systems to ensure that every segment of our enterprise infrastructure is healthy and manageable, and is robust enough to connect hundreds of cutting-edge embedded systems theater-wide. We are seeking an experienced system engineer to motivate and lead our engineering and support technicians working throughout the Pacific to help us deliver our private cloud platform to the warfighter in this challenging position on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Responsibilities
As a senior systems engineer, you will use your leadership skills and technical capabilities to lead and mobilize geographically separated cross-functional teams. Your deep systems engineering experience and solid understanding of full stack network integration will be invaluable as you interact with both tier two support technicians and tier three engineers, discuss operations and maintenance issues with personnel on our team and the government customers we support. Your experience and skill will enable us to continue delivering supportable solutions for bilateral information sharing throughout the Pacific theater. You will oversee the management of personnel and processes that maintain and support robust and reliable coalition services and ensure the availability and integrity of our INDOPACOM-wide infrastructure. We need your management and leadership expertise, ability to interact with and support military and government customers, and strong technical experience to help motivate and guide our team members in a variety of technical expertise areas to include private cloud operations, Desktop as a Service, cross-domain access solutions, and warfighter support at the tactical edge.
Principal Duties:
+ Lead the team tasked with providing robust and reliable systems operations of the INDOPACOM MPE-ES enterprise which provides coalition desktop C2 services to more than 5,000 customers in the USINDOPACOM theater and across the globe
+ Create functional strategies and specific objectives for functional teams and develop policies/procedures to support the organizational operations
+ Train and mentor personnel in systems administration principles and best practices
+ Oversee systems operations & maintenance of enterprise-wide systems to ensure scalability and accessibility of applications or services
+ Ensure proper information system operations and plan necessary upgrades
+ Interact with all Functional Teams as needed to add to or advance our enterprise, correct or improve existing performance and resiliency, and guide overall program management for all team members
+ Participate in and/or lead major network installations and upgrades
+ Develop and implement systems testing strategies and document results
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
+ Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned
+ Maintain integrity and security of systems and associated hardware
+ Maintain technical documentation and diagrams
+ Monitor overall systems health and troubleshoot reported events
+ Other duties and responsibilities as dictated by contract or company
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent years of related experience)AND a minimum of fifteen (15) years of related systems administration and/or engineering experience
+ An active in-scope secret clearance
+ DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g. CompTIA Security+ certification)
+ 10+ years of experience in systems administration, security operations or enterprise IT service center operations
+ MCP or Linux/Red Hat Certification
Desired skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience:
+ Strong leadership abilities and experience leading and motivating a variety of skilled employees ranging from high-level systems/network engineers to entry-level help desk technicians
+ Experience operating in a large organization with cross-functional, functional or matrixed organizational structures
+ Experience with technical project management, specifically PMP
+ Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies (VMware Horizon View)
+ Familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred)
+ Familiarity with Forcepoint TTC or Secureview
Preferred Qualifications
+ MCP DevOps Engineer, MCP Solutions Architect, or RHCA/RHCE
+ ITIL Foundation Level certification
+ Experience in data center systems in both physical and virtualized environments
