Kūpono Government Services LLC is looking for a qualified Journeyman Power Plant Operator to support our contract with PMRF.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction of a supervisor or lead-person, will perform a variety of work related to the operation and maintenance of diesel power generation engines and equipment. Has knowledge of power generation engines & equipment; Can safely operate diagnostic and other test equipment related to general maintenance and repair; research and identify parts from catalogs; perform maintenance, repair, overhaul and replacement of parts related to the operation of generators and equipment.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

The individual will perform a variety of duties related to the operation and maintenance of diesel power generation engines and equipment, such as:

+ Will perform fundamental tasks such as preventive maintenance of power generation engines and equipment, changing and painting of equipment and generator rooms.

+ Provides guidance, orientation and training to newly assigned and lower seniority employees.

+ Responsible for care of Government equipment, tools, property and materials, and assure that they are properly maintained and safeguarded.

+ Performs specific tasks in accordance with verbal and/or written instructions and observes safety, fire, health, and work rules.

+ Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ELEMENTS:

Environment:

+ Outdoor and indoor environment.

+ Must be able to withstand heat (weather).

+ Must be willing to work odd hours in support of PMRF operations.

+ Must be capable of traveling to remote sites on neighbor islads via military helicopter.

Physical Elements:

+ Lifting, with a limit of over 50 lbs.

+ Positions: Walking or standing; crawling, kneeling or cramped; work requiring repeated stooping; work requiring repeated or frequent stair climbing.

+ Pushing/Pulling: Over 50 lbs.

+ Environmental: Extended work day; confined work area; field assignment; inclement weather.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

+ High School equivalent

+ Must have completed trade school training, correspondence school, or have a minimum of four years apprenticeship or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

+ A minimum of two years of specific work experience in the specified field required.

+ Diesel mechanics license and Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred.

+ Equivalent training and course work may be substituted in the absence of license.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

+ Secret security clearance is required.

+ Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
