The Cyber Analytics team is seeking a Director of Information Security to lead a new Cyber Security Platform Engineering team. The Director will be responsible for driving strategy and architecture of complex cyber security platform spanning a gamut of technologies in the areas of virtualization , big data ecosystem, containerization and AI/ML platform for the Information Security and Risk Management teams. The Director must demonstrate a strong proclivity for availability, process, and technology innovation. The leader will be required to build, develop, and manage a high performing team of platform engineers.
Job Responsibilities
+ Create a strong Dev Ops culture and develop processes and tools to facilitate fast time to market, technology resilient, and high performance analytics applications/systems
+ Drive proof of concept solutions in various areas of the platform stack from hardware, software, middleware to application tiers thus facilitating a culture of innovation and enable American Express Cyber Analytics unit with leading edge technology capabilities
+ Work closely with other enterprise platform teams in Amex encouraging a culture of sharing and utilizing platform best practices
+ Focus on automation and orchestration to gain operational efficiencies with limited amount of platform resources
+ Engage with external technology partners to understand industry trends in infrastructure and application platform evolutions
+ Should also be proficient in financial planning for the platform , negotiating software/hardware deals working in conjunction with technology partners, vendor management units thus driving down total cost of ownership for the platform
+ Should work effectively with ancillary technology departments such as network engineering, firewall teams, data center operations/infrastructure teams to seamlessly implement technology capabilities for the Cyber Analytics unit
+ Should be able to work closely with the Cyber Analytics Operations division to define, maintain and continuously improve Infrastructure, Servicing and Capability SLAs
Qualifications
+ Typically holds a Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
+ Professional certifications preferred (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CPCB, ITIL, etc.)
+ 10 years working knowledge of any major area of Information Technology & Information Security
+ Demonstrated expertise in the areas of infrastructure and application virtualization using VMWare, RedHat and Kubernetes required. Also facilitate platform consumers in their journey to build cloud native applications
+ Hands-on expertise of Hadoop ecosystem with knowledge of development and security of the big data ecosystem required. This includes knowledge of security components such as Apache Ranger and development components using Apache Spark, HIVE , various file systems such as HDFS, ORC, AVROs etc.
+ Conversant with data integration technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ etc. required
+ Ability to engineer and support various types of persistence stores i.e. Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) systems such as Greenplum, Netezza or Teradata, traditional RDMS such as PostGres, MS SQL Server, and No SQL stores such as Apache Solr, ElasticSearch etc. required
+ Expertise with engineering NFS and backup solutions to manage data ingestion use cases and disaster recovery scenarios required
+ Experience supporting globally distributed, and highly available environments
+ Knowledge of Agile development, Agile operations, and Lean approaches to platform engineering
+ Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and emerging toolsets
+ Possesses extensive knowledge of enterprise policies and procedures including Change and Incident Management
+ Requires proven collaboration skills along with the ability to influence without authority
+ Requires proven communication, IT risk management and coaching skills
