Position Summary/ Objective:

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Ukulele Pool Bar. Responsible for hiring, training and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for employees, supervisors and managers. Responsible for food, beverage and labor costs.
Direct, implement and maintain a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective associates.
Understand the owner’s and guest’s needs and maximize satisfaction.

Primary Essential Functions:

Associate Engagement and Empowerment

  • Responsible for retention and recognition activities including recruitment, performance management, training, merit increases, action plans, coach and counseling, documentation.
  • Encourages and fosters professional development of Associates.
  • Cultivates Associate engagement by embracing BE EPIC values, and GPRM’s Service Culture.
  • Analyzes, interprets, and creates action plans based off of results from produced Associate engagement surveys, and Associate Listen Sessions.

Operational Excellence

  • Manages and oversees inventory management, compliance of contracts and vendors, resort appearance, compliance with established rules and regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to GPR Brand Standards & operating procedures.
  • Follow up on Quarterly Resort Audit Action Items, and ensure compliance.
  • Manage Annual Owner Survey action items and focus on increasing Owner Satisfaction scores year-over-year.
  • Direct performance of Pool Bar associates to ensure owners/guests needs are met or exceeded.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments and delegate work to associates.
  • Direct performance of associates and follow-up with corrections where needed.
  • Motivate Pool Bar associates and maintain a cohesive team.
  • Ascertain Pool Bar training needs and provide such training.
  • Focus attention to details and analyze and resolve problems while exercising good judgement.

Service culture

  • Monitor and encourage TripAdvisor reviews, and engage with Owners/Guests to improve resort rankings quarterly.
  • Customer service standards (quantitatively/qualitatively) are achieved according to goals in all departmental categories.

Financial (Budgets & Labor)

  • Develop and prepare annual Operating budget.
  • Monitor and oversee Pool Bar financial performance through various reporting mechanisms, including utilizing various systems and analytics.
  • Obtain assigned cash bank and ensure accuracy.
  • Obtain any change needed for future assistance to bartenders.
  • Maintain proper cash handling procedures of all bartenders.
  • Ensure tips are properly paid, secure all receipts and banks.

Safety

  • Involvement in resort owner/ guest and Associate safety, initiatives, meetings, and safety programs.
  • Participation in Worker’s Compensation Claims and incident Reporting.
  • Maintain an accident- free work place, and celebrates safe work practices.

Board of Directors and Homeowners Association

  • Monitor Annual Board of Directors Survey results to ensure BOD Member Satisfaction.

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Valid Hawaii Drivers License
  • County of Kauai Liquor Card
  • State of Hawaii Dept. of Health Card
  • 3+ years proven success in Beverage Management required as a Pool Bar Manager.
  • Experience as a bartender, food server.
  • Proven track record delivering financial results.
  • Customer- service focused, results driven, problem solving skills.
  • Professional communication skills, with owners/ guests, management and Associates.
  • Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency without compromising quality.
