Field Superintendent - AECOM (Hawaii)

Job Summary

Shimmick Construction is seeking a Field Superintendent to be based in Honolulu, HI.

Responsible for the organization, direction, and coordination of construction crews and activities on a construction project site.

Responsibilities:

+ Accountable and overall responsibility for on-site administrative and technical management of field crews.

+ Leads, directs and manages the entire direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.

+ Primary Liaison with client for day to day activities and long term operations.

+ Accountable for compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.

+ Reports to project manager and coordinates with other disciplines, including superintendents, engineers and administrative staff.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience:

+ High School Diploma/GED + 10 years of relevant experience OR AA/AS + 8 years of relevant experience OR BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience in heavy civil construction projects

+ Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater

+ Current OSHA 10

+ Ability to discern new markets and develop business in those areas

+ Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time

+ Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with colleagues on a variety of initiatives

+ Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency

+ Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills

+ Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively

+ Knowledge of Acubid, Hard Dollar and excellent Excel skills
