**Job Description**
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) is a national advanced primary care medical home model that aims to strengthen primary care through regionally-based multi-payer payment reform and care delivery transformation. The use of team-based care features uniquely skilled individuals working together, in new ways, to meet the health care needs of patients in an efficient, comprehensive, and sustainable manner. Successful population management relies on a high-functioning team that shares a firm vision of a healthier patient who is empowered to better manage his or her own health, with the help of the Care Team. These physician-led teams are aware of the patient’s medical and social history, and are equipped to attend to patient needs in a variety of ways. Team-based health care is one of the key ways to accomplish shared goals within and across our medical centers to achieve coordinated, high-quality care and reach our mission to create a healthier Hawai'i.
As a Medical Assistant, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

**Minimum Qualifications:** High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Nationally Certified medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
