**Role Summary:**

As an integral member of the GE Ventures New Business Creations Growth Equity Team, the Sr Associate will play a key role working with NBC leadership in developing business models, performing general business development, market research, and product research across various industries.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

This role will be key in evaluating and conducting diligence on investment and partnership opportunities and managing complex projects at various stages of maturity to help expand presence in areas of strategic growth. Other responsibilities include helping to bring entrepreneurial and innovative thinking and practices to GE businesses through collaborative projects with a variety of different stakeholders.

In the role of Senior Associate, Growth Equity you will:

+ Work with external and internal resources to determine new areas to explore and develop business opportunities

+ Participate in all aspects of company structuring: analysis, modeling, due diligence, structuring, documentation, negotiation, legal considerations, and investment committee presentations

+ Assist in the creation and execution of tactical plans for new business creation, including project management, diligence and business plan development. Reporting to senior management on above activities for portfolio reviews and/or investment committee, as well as on an as needed basis

+ Support portfolio company operations during formative stages of development

+ Provide business planning development and implementation support

+ Conduct market research and industry analysis

+ Engage in product research, including detailed feature analysis

+ Engage in due diligence on new business opportunities

+ Deliver presentations to internal constituents and partners

+ Support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting functions

+ Responsible for GEV brand and reputation management throughout all interactions

+ Represent GE in appropriate forums and be a spokesperson for the company on GE Ventures themes

+ Drive a high performance culture by fostering innovation, customer focus, personal accountability, commitment for results

**Qualifications/Requirements:**

+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

+ Minimum 5 years of work experience in venture capital, strategy consulting at top tier firm, investment banking, or business development/operational role at a start-up company

+ Domain expertise in various industries (ex. transportation, aviation) and business development

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and high proficiency in Excel

+ Strong written and verbal communication skillsEligibility Requirements:

+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

+ Must be willing to travel 30%

+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in Menlo Park, CA or Boston, MA

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ MBA from an accredited college or university preferred

+ Prior experience working in cross-business application or solution selling in a diverse set of processes

+ Demonstrated ability to conduct market analysis and competitive landscaping

+ Experience managing large, complex, strategic collaborative relationships

+ Domain expertise across multiple industries (oil & gas, aviation, transportation, power, energy, healthcare)

+ Ability to see the “big picture” and communicate effectively using PowerPoint, Word and other presentation tools

+ Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport at all levels within an organization

+ Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

+ Strong interpersonal communication presentation skills

+ Strong project management and organizational skills

+ Strong judgment and the ability to analyze options and their implications

+ Ability to lead and participate in strategic discussions

+ Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external partners as part of a solutions-based process

+ Additional experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity a plus
