Kauai Inn is a Historic 48 unit Plantation Style Hotel located on three tropical acres at the end of Nawiliwili Bay. Visit our website: www.kauaiinn.com. Our family owned Inn is seeking a General Manager with strong sales and marketing skills to take on the responsibilities described below:

Job Description: General Manager is responsible for maximizing the return on investment to the owner of the hotel by achieving the objectives of an annual budget, guest services, employee survey and sales profitability. Additionally, the general manager is responsible to provide the highest quality of guest services and a positive work environment for all employees. The general manager is also responsible for direct immediate communication of any and all issues regarding the sales and profitability of the business.

Essential Job Functions: 1. Supervise and develop performance of all departments, front desk reservations, revenue management, accounting, housekeeping, maintenance and sales to ensure the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction in a cost efficient manner.

2. Develop, implement, monitor the objectives of the Annual Budget, including Sales Strategies, Pricing and Revenue Management.

3. Maintain and update Hotel Procedure Handbook. Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are fully implemented in all departments including Safety and Emergency Evacuation procedures.

4. Protect, maintain and enhance the value of the Hotel through appropriate programs of repair and maintenance, preventative maintenance, housekeeping and security measures.

5. Develop and supervise programs that promote a positive work environment for all employees, insuring that all related processes comply with local, state and federal regulations.

6. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all period end financial statements and reports and provide controls to ensure proper handling and accounting of all hotel receipts.

7. Review and approve of all operating expenses for the Hotel.

8. Maintain all credit policies of the Hotel. Conduct credit meetings, supervise collection of A/R accounts.

9. Conduct monthly staff meetings to report key operating results to staff and listen to concerns of staff and their suggestions on ways to improve.

10. Perform tasks in Sales and Marketing working in conjunction with our Washington Sales and Marketer to achieve the financial performance and goals of the Hotel.

Essential Physical Abilities:

1. Endure various physical movements throughout the work area.

2. Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads and or carry otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage.

3. Requires fingering, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity and good verbal skills.

Qualification Standards:

1. College degree or equivalent in a post secondary education in Hospitality or Business Admin.

2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

3. Four years hospitality supervisor/management experience supervising rooms, accounting, sales and marketing.

4. Strong aptitude in financial management, reports and analysis.

5. Punctuality and regular reliable attendance

.6. Three years experience as a Hotel manager.

7. Computer knowledge in Windows environment as well as various PMS and POS systems.
