The Boeing Company Maui Site, supporting the Research and Development for Advanced Space Superiority Technology and Engineering (RASTER) Program, is seeking a highly skilled **Senior Electro-Optical Controls Systems Engineer** to perform design, analysis, and test of digital and analog electronics. Engineer would work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the development of both directed energy and electro-optical systems. Work with lead optical engineer, lead systems engineer, lead mechanical engineer, and the customer to establish requirements, design, procure, assemble, test and maintain various electrical and electro-optical systems such as telescope and sensor controls systems, visible and infrared sensor systems. This position would also lead a team of electrical engineers. The **Senior Electro-Optical Controls Systems Engineer** will be located at the Maui Space Surveillance Complex in **Kihei, HI.**

Position Responsibilities:

+ Leads work with customers to develop and document electronic and electrical system requirements on complex multi-tiered projects.

+ Leads analysis and translation of complex requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

+ Leads testing and validation work on complex system designs to assure that operational and functional requirements are met.

+ Works with other to develop program test strategies.

+ Manages performance of critical suppliers to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

+ Conducts program independent reviews and reports results to program leadership.

+ Provides critical support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

+ Leads research into technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

+ Makes recommendations for technology investments.

+ Recognized as a business unit-wide expert in process development and qualification, physical and functional integration and installation design and resolving supplier technical issues

This position requires U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

A final U.S. secret clearance Pre Start is required.

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience** ):

+ Experience designing, developing, testing, qualifying electrical/electronic systems

+ Analytical and hardware experience with servo control parameter tuning and optimization with application toward optical systems.

+ Experience working with laboratory checkout and test of prototype electronics including the ability to debug and troubleshoot electronics designs.

+ Experience with analysis and simulation, and controls systems

+ A Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

+ Experience working with electro-optical systems.

+ Experience working with Mentor Graphics PADS, Xilinx ISE/Vivado, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.

+ Experience working with C/C++, VHDL, etc. and Linux & Windows OS

+ Experience working in research and development environment.

+ Ability to work at 10,000 feet is preferred.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation
