GDIT Technical Shared Services (TSS) has an opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer working with a large line of business within GDIT currently supporting the Defense Information Service Agency (DISA) in the DC Metro area. We are seeking energetic, talented individuals that have a desire to help transform customer requirements supporting the DISA Enterprise Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) contract.
In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:
+ The Senior Systems Engineer organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems.
+ Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
+ Increases system engineer efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system engineer procedures, and conducts system engineer training and skills assessments.
+ Develops documentation for engineering from requirements and architectural designs, and diagrams.
+ Actively manages project risks and issues to close technical gaps in the project.
+ Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
+ Ensure data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions.
+ Recommend and implement system enhancements that improved the performance, security, and reliability of the system.
Required Qualifications
+ BA/BS (or equivalent experience),5+ years of Linux experience in an enterprise environment
+ Experience with containerization technologies (Docker)
+ Strength in multitasking and prioritization in order to meet periodically changing deadlines
+ Self-starting and able to drive projects to completion in a fast moving environment
+ Solid communications skills
+ Able to create, discuss and explain technical documentation.
+ Extensive experience as a systems engineer/ administrator in a government environment, dealing with business critical, high availability systems.
+ Experience of designing and implementing highly available solutions.
+ Security + certification or 8570 equivalent.
+ DoD SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Identity Management and Authentication/Authorization experience
+ Linux+ or equivalent certificate/experience
+ Experience developing coding/scripting to build required automation and tools (using Ansible, Ruby, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, etc.)
+ Experience with DevSecOps concepts, tools and automation skills
+ Familiarity with industry standard host based security systems (HBSS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS)
+ Experience configuring and/or utilizing monitoring/logging solutions
+ Mixed operating systems experience: (Linux, Windows)
+ Kubernetes or similar technology familiarity
+ Experience troubleshooting issues related to SAN and NAS storage
