Senior Strategic Analyst - Queen's Health Systems (Hawaii)
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves as a consultant and resource to The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) executive management in planning and execution of corporate strategic programs and activities.
• Performs extensive analytics, synthesis of information, and development of business plans and presentations for deliberation by executive management and the Board of Trustees.
• Is the lead in coordination and execution of special projects as assigned.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: sitting, walking, stooping/bending, twisting body, seeing, hearing, speaking, repetitive arm/hand motions.
• Frequent: standing, climbing stairs, lifting usual weight up to 25 pounds, carrying usual weight of 5 pounds up to 20 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: kneeling, walking on uneven ground, squatting, frequent gripping of an object.
• Operates computer, printer, copier, facsimile, telephone.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, health care or a related field; four (4) years progressively responsible experience involving analysis may be substituted for educational requirement.
• Master’s degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred.
• CPA license (inactive status acceptable) desirable.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to the educational requirement, five (5) years business and/or financial analytics experience, preferably in a comparable organization.
• With a Master’s degree, three (3) years business and/or financial analytics experience, preferably in a comparable organization.
• Experience in a lead or supervisory role.
• Prior experience working with trustees, community organizations and/or interactions with senior executives.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to use problem solving methodologies, continuous improvement methods and analytical tools and methodologies
o Ability in establishing excellent collaborative working and strategic partnering with individuals and teams at various levels and from various fields of expertise, including executive leadership
o Extensive knowledge of general accounting, cost accounting, budgeting and analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, preferably in the health care industry.
o Advanced knowledge and proficiency in business computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
o Ability to extract and report off relational databases.
o Knowledge in organizational design, broad strategy concepts and project management principles.
o Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, preferable.
