Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Primary function of Security Guard is the security and safety of owners, guests, employees and property assets.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Maintain an alert, positive and professional image of the security functions to guests and employees of the resort.

2. Understand local, state and federal laws applicable to resort policies governing security and safety.

3. Be familiar with all areas of resort operations and emergency procedures.

4. Maintain a Daily Activity Log.

5. Conduct security and safety checks throughout the property, including maintenance areas, empty units, office areas, pool fitness center areas, BBQ’s, parking lots and open spaces. No less than one property tour/loop per hour except when other issues arise.

6. Conduct monthly check of all fire extinguishers on property. Compile report with findings.

7. Close and open resort’s fitness facility each evening/morning in accordance with hours of operation.

Sanitize all fitness equipment. Log any defects.

8. Conduct investigations, contact authorities when necessary, and submit complete and accurate reports as required.

9. Provide check-in service for late arriving guests and owners, including assistance with luggage.

10. Escort employees or guests to their requested destination as required.

11. Be familiar with all events that have occurred since their last shift.

12. Open fitness room at 4 a.m. Ensure areas is clean, AC is on and TV/remote working

13. Perform all other duties as requested by Facilities Manager.

Preferred Job Knowledge and Qualifications:

High school graduate or GED. One-year previous experience with Police Force, Military Police, Federal Enforcement Agency, Hotel/Resort or Industrial Security would be preferable. Must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to project outwardly in a positive, mature and cheerful manner. Must also have the ability to interview people, write reports and be a team player with clear and alert thinking. Good physical condition is required. Job requires walking, standing, sitting, ladder climbing, balancing, reaching, good eye/hand/foot coordination, pushing or pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb three flights of stairs approximately 7-10 times per shift and stand for up to four hours. First Aid, CPR and AED certifications are required, or willing to be trained by the company. Security Guard Card required, or willing to obtain with the help of the company.
