Job Description

HII-Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is currently seeking an Excercise Planner 4 to support our USARPAC customer.

The INDOPACOM combatant command theater covers over half the earth’s surface and provides unique challenges to our National Defense strategy. Essential Job Responsibilities

+ Apply knowledge of how to organize diverse groups to build shared comprehension of complex challenges, facilitate collective problem solving, analysis, and implementation of new solutions and best practices, and work with clients to monitor and review the systematic activities implemented in an organizational system so that mission requirements for a product or service will be fulfilled.

+ Manage assigned exercise events that allow clients to discuss process initiatives and confirm viability and events to practice and execute processes to confirm efficiency and comprehension of performance and output expectations, including Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), In Progress Reviews (IPRs), and After Action Review (AARs).

+ Facilitate training exercises, travel to various locations (mainly OCONUS), as required for approximately 5-10 weeks per year, and support exercises using the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) format for all exercises, seminars, and engagements.

+ Maintain responsibility for analyzing the formulation and development of, implementing, and documenting each assigned exercise, seminar, and engagement.

+ Coordinate with USINDOPACOM, USARPAC staff, Service Components, HQDA, FORSCOM, I Corps, and Embassy/Country Teams and/or JUSMAGs (as required) to determine sourcing solutions, implement funding guidance, ensure compliance with higher headquarters orders, policies, and guidance.

+ Coordinate, schedule, and brief leaders on the status of assigned exercises, provide input and make recommendations, ensure milestones are met, perform sourcing, funding, and performance gaps are captured.

+ Draft, staff, and manage through publication USARPAC orders, briefings and presentations, spreadsheets, and documents.

+ Execute the exercise and provide exercise support to the client and other cells, as required.

+ CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.

+ Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

+ 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.

+ 3+ years of experience with military exercises at the battalion, brigade, or division level.

+ 2+ years of experience with military planning at the battalion, brigade, or division level.

+ Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.

+ Previous experience briefing senior leadership at the General Officer, Flag Officer, or Senior Executive Service level.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to proof read, edit, and finalize exercise planning products for senior leader briefings.

+ Valid US Passport

+ Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance

Preferred Requirements

+ Bachelors Degree

+ Army Combat Arms MOS

+ Experience with the Five Stages of the Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) planning process

+ Experience with military operations and exercises in Southeast Asia (specifically, India, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Mongolia) highly desired

+ Ability to take an exercise from the concept phase, plan the exercise, and prepare, execute, and properly close it out

+ Preferably speak and understand any additional South Asian language such as Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu

+ Army Field Grade officer with exercise planning background

+ Experience supporting USARPAC staff

+ Experience supporting USINDOPACOM theater operations

+ Previous experience with the Army Training Management System (ATMS) and its components Army Training Network (ATN), Unit Training Management (UTM), Digital Training Management System (DTMS), and Combined Arms Training Strategies (CATS)
