Senior Data Engineer - Bayer (Hawaii)
Position Overview:
The Climate Corporation’s mission is to help the world’s farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools. The Science Data Pipeline team is focused on ensuring that standard, high-quality data is available for analysis across our Science organization. This includes exploratory analysis of large data sets, data quality metrics identification, report creation, and development and maintenance of automation that makes data readily available to be used in analysis. This role will broadly influence the company’s products, operational effectiveness and shape the strategy for our data, our most influential business asset. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for data analysis and quality and who has a demonstrated knowledge of Python, SQL and strong communication and teamwork skills.
What You Will Do:
+ Develop tools to facilitate retrieval, curation and quality assurance for agronomic data and metadata
+ Map and analyze the relationships between data, features, and models
+ Create and maintain interactive dashboards to visualize data pipeline operations
+ Develop UDFs and Data Pipelines to enhance and accelerate pre-production model development
+ Maintain existing packages and promote community development of unified data pipelines and data standards packages
+ Collaborate with upstream/downstream teams to understand how and why data assets are being utilized
Basic Qualifications:
+ M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience or B.S. with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
+ Strong development experience in object oriented Python
+ Experience working with cloud tools such as AWS, Domino, and Spark
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Agronomic domain knowledge/previous work experience in plant or crop sciences.
+ Experience working with Apache ecosystem (e.g., Spark, Airflow)
+ Experience with CI/CD tools and deploying Python packages to Artifactory
+ Experience in network analysis
