Description
Are you a self-starting and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk? This is a long-term temporary-to-full-time Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Honolulu, Hawaii area. A growing Transport company is partnering with Accountemps to find an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join their accounting team. On an average day, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will perform tasks like entering, posting, and reconciling batches, as well as researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging report, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journal, updating, and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L. We are seeking candidates who are looking for career growth potential, and who are capable of processing 200+ invoices per week.
Key responsibilities
- Represent and exude the values, culture, and mission of the organization
- Process payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
- Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
- Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
- Square bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in diverse ledgers
- Corroborate documents and codes
- Provide information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

Requirements
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- ERP system experience
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
- Billing Collection experience
- General familiarity with incoming payments
- Wide ranging experience with Receiving Payments
- Practical knowledge of Payment Processing
- Foundational knowledge in Collection Processes
- Good understanding of Microsoft Word
- Well-founded grasp of Debt Repayment
- Quality experience with Posting Payments
- Earlier work involving Microsoft Excel
- Collecting Payments experience highly desired
- Command of Aged Receivables
- Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Proven knowledge of Credit Card Payments
- Previous experience working with Navision
- Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
