WSP is currently initiating a search for a Maritime Senior Project Manager to join us in our Honolulu, Hawaii Way office For over 50-years WSP has been a leader in waterfront structural design for Port Authorities, the U.S. Navy, the Coast Guard, and private entities worldwide. The WSP Maritime group is a dynamic and energetic group with strong work ethics and a great culture of collaboration and camaraderie. You would be joining one of the largest and best waterfront/marine design groups in the nation. The projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for Maritime projects or groups of smaller capital projects, including the management of task leaders, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.

You will participate in the formulation and presentation of technical concepts in proposal development, during the design phase, and for client presentations. Additionally, you will be engaged in the growth and development of our team by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and participation in the hiring and evaluation of junior staff. Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Take responsible charge for supervising the work of staff engineers, supervising task leads, and self-perform calculations and prepare drawings and technical specifications.

+ Prepare technical studies and reports and guide/review the work of staff engineers.

+ Perform oversight of calculations, cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications and reports.

+ Perform quality assurance checks. Manage/ lead projects, tasks and staff for marine facility projects, including various types of cargo terminals (e.g. container, bulk, break-bulk), federal facilities (homeporting piers and shipyards), and clients (port authorities, DoD, private terminals, public agencies, etc.).

+ Perform multiple discipline management and coordination of internal and external teams comprised of civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, coastal, fire protection, and architecture.

+ Prepare alternatives analysis reports and presentations for repair projects and capital improvement programs.

+ Lead review meetings, client presentations, and design charrettes.

+ Maintaining schedules, budgets, and profitability.

+ Perform business development and general marketing activities. Maintain positive client relationships. Participate in preparation of technical proposals, presentations, negotiations, and staff estimates.

# Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

+ 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in waterfront/marine structural and/or civil engineering design and project management.

+ Aptitude in maritime related codes (ASCE, COPRI, etc.) and Department of Defense (UFC, UFGC) criteria.

+ Experience with design and management of NAVFAC projects, including NAVFAC PAC is highly desirable.

+ Competency or ability to supervise staff in state-of-the-art computer programs.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

+ Flexibility to manage concurrent projects.

+ Self-motivated, flexible and capable if working in a fast-paced work environment.

+ Proven mentoring and leading of technical teams.

+ Proven risk management skills.

+ Strong time management and organizational skills.

+ Candidate must be able to work in the United States on a full-time permanent basis immediately. Visa sponsorship not offered for this position.

Education & Accreditation Requirement:

+ A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering.

+ A Master’s Degree will be considered beneficial but is not required. Candidate shall possess a PE registration in the state of Hawaii or be able to obtain within 6 months.

+ Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card which requires a TSA background check.

+ Ability to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check for access onto U.S. Navy facilities.
