Job Summary:
The Academic Advisor I is our student's primary counselor. They monitor student progress towards their academic goals and make recommendations to keep them on track while complying with Columbia College policies.
Provide sound academic advice to students based on their school bulletin and degree program
Coordinate with the main campus evaluations department to ensure students receive appropriate transfer credits where warranted
Track students through their degree program, placing a special emphasis on new students and students nearing graduation
Give post-graduation guidance to students when requested
Assist in course management and student retention
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in academic advisement/counseling
Experience in marketing
Master’s degree from an accredited institution (required for advising graduate students)
