Ka’iulani of Princeville (KOP) is a high-end condominium development on the North Shore of Kauai. It is located on an 18-acre parcel in Queen Emma’s Bluff. The landscaping has always been well manicured. We are now seeking to hire a part-time (up to 19 hours per week) landscape workman to help assist with ongoing needs of the community.
Job Description: Apply knowledge of plants, trees, and grasses in growing, pruning, and fertilizing shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees, and flowers. Work outside in all types of weather to keep Ka’iulani grounds attractive, clean, and well maintained. Assist with the daily projects as instructed by Association and Landscaping Management. Play a major role in the service and continuing maintenance of KOP landscape project. Learn and execute proper landscaping techniques and utilize equipment, power tools, small machinery, and hand tools to carry out full-service installations and proper handling of all materials. Execute strong attention to detail and personal integrity including working with a team or independently. Each KOP employee has great attendance and strong work ethic attitudes. There is a distinguished willingness to learn proper techniques and the correct and safe operation of all hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Individuals must be physically capable of busy work pace on a regular basis.
Duties:
Usage of all essential landscaping machinery and equipment
Keep machinery and tools in good working order
Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety policies and guidelines
Observe organization of work and take necessary actions to ensure highest quality
Must proficiently communicate with management and coworkers
Requirements: KOP requires for this position a motivated individual with at least 3+ years of proven landscaping experience. Strong candidates will be able to work well following instructions from Management and communicating with team members. Candidate should have a basic knowledge of shrubs, plants, trees, perennials, and landscape material, working knowledge of equipment, good communication skills, clean-cut personality, and willing to work in a team environment. Have at least 2 or 3 good previous employment or character references and have good attendance record and be on time for work. Must be able to complete tasks expressed in the job description and be willing to participate in other activities as deemed necessary by Association Management.
