**Job Description**
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
As Straub patients, our clients have access to over 300 specialists and all the services of Straub Hospital. Our clinic located at Restaurant Row offers women's health services, adult primary care, pediatric care and specialty care. The clinic provides services in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury for infants, children, adolescents and adults. We cover the entire age range from birth to end of life/geriatric care, including specialty care available in internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dermatology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, ophthalmology, rheumatology and urology. Our Internal Medicine physicians specialize in the diagnosis, management and nonsurgical treatment of unusual or serious diseases. Our specialists in internal medicine or “Internists,” have a lengthy clinical and scientific training in their areas of medical interest and special expertise in management of patients with complex, interacting medical conditions. Services include immunization, preventive care and patient education through a long-term personal relationship with their patients. Our caring and professional team also coordinates the efforts of other medical and surgical specialists as needed to assure our patients’ best possible health.
As a Medical Assistant, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Family Practice department. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

**Minimum Qualifications:** High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
**Preferred Qualifications:** Six (6) months medical assistant experience. Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) or ICD-10 coding. Experience with electronic medical records.
