Serves the manager and provides oversight of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) sections and staff:

a. Provides oversight of day-to-day activities of each section including ensuring each section is meeting deadlines, managing staff workload, providing effective support and maintenance of systems and applications they are responsible for;

b. Convenes and conducts section head meetings on a routine basis;

c. Attends and participates in management meetings, as convened by the branch director;

d. Provides weekly report to the branch director on the activities and progress of activities the sections are working on including schedules and timelines;

e. Develops, maintains, and articulates the vision and values for the section and ensures alignment with branch and department goals and strategic plans;

f. Ensures all tasks and assignments are complete and submitted in a timely manner;

g. Maintains and enhance lines of communication among staff;

h. Identifies and recommends appropriate training, when necessary;

i. Ensures staff are appropriately cross-trained to ensure business continuity;

j. Ensures the security and confidentiality of technical solutions and data being managed and supported by the sections.

Provides personnel and fiscal management of the Enterprise Resource Planning section and staff:

a. Provides daily direction to ERP section heads and direct reports;

b. Reviews the job performance of ERP section heads and direct reports; provides feedback and suggestions for improvement; sets performance expectations and completes performance evaluations by the end of the evaluation period;

c. Addresses personnel issues and escalates to the branch director or designated educational officer (EO) if unable to resolve after taking appropriate steps/actions;

d. Participate in recruitment and hiring tasks; may be assigned to chair interview panels;

e. Reviews and approves requests for leaves, overtime, etc. for ERP section heads and direct reports; recommends to next approving authority appropriate action/decision;

f. As assigned by the director, provides quotes, conducts research, etc. for fiscal purchases for the ERP sections; reviews invoices related to such purchases for accuracy and completeness and recommends appropriate action/decision to branch director or designated EO;

g. As assigned by the director or designated EO, provide assistance and review in the development of proposals and/or contracts for goods and professional services;

h. Reviews reimbursements for ERP staff (e.g., mileage, travel, etc.) for accuracy and provides recommendation to branch director for decision;

i. Tracks annual renewals of licenses, software, etc. and provides recommendations to the branch director or designated EO for renewal

j. Develops a replacement cycle for ERP section equipment and makes recommendations to procure and replace, as necessary

Serves as a technical expert and lead for ERP-related initiatives and strategies:

a. Serves on committees, projects, etc. to provide technical expertise and guidance;

b. Completes complex tasks and activities and provides oversight on section tasks; and provides guidance and feedback to staff;

c. Provides oversight and expertise in the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of systems, databases, applications, interfaces, integrations, processes, etc.

d. Provides oversight, coordination, technical expertise in the support and troubleshooting of issues, bugs, outages, etc.

e. Provides oversight, coordination, and technical expertise in the review of version releases, patches, and other changes, conduct testing and quality assurance checks to ensure no issues will be implemented into production environments; reviews requests for production changes and makes recommendations to the branch director;

f. Ensures the accuracy and currency of documentation related to the systems, databases, and processes, as well as documentation for end-users;

g. Reviews and/or develops operating procedures and event reports, as necessary;

h. Ensures that all technical matters of the sections are fully resolved and done in a timely manner;

i. Participates in training and professional development for new and emerging technologies, and other training relevant to successfully managing the section/unit activities.

j. Identifies training and professional development opportunities for section heads and direct reports.
