Director, Risk Oversight Center of Excellence - American Express (Hawaii)
The Risk Oversight Center of Excellence organization within Global Risk, Banking, and Compliance (GRBC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express. The team’s mission is to augment risk management by using recent advances in data science and technology.
We are seeking an experienced leader to be a part of the evolution for the next-generation of risk management and capabilities. The successful candidate will apply their expertise in the fields of risk management and information technology to identify risk and derive actionable insights across operational risk. The candidate will lead a team of risk managers to successfully identify, measure, and report on operational risk with a focus on technology risk.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct ‘heads up’ risk management assessments based on smart monitoring results
* Provide effective challenge through independent reviews of critical technology risk processes
* Stay informed of technology risk trends across lines of business and provide actionable insights for determined risk scenarios
* Oversee independent risk assessments for technology platforms across various processes to identify potential emerging risks and performance issues
* Define and develop comprehensive key risk indicators and key performance indicators to support monitoring across technology risk pillar
* Develop requirements to support next generation risk capabilities (e.g. Project Matrix)
* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in technologies
* Leadership experience in risk management and or an information technology role
* Relevant industry certifications such as CRISC, CISM, CISSP, CISA
* Effective communicator capable of explaining a complex problems and ideas clearly and succinctly
* Results-driven individual who likes challenging work and has experience driving program change
